Brenda Gantt was born and raised in Northport, Alabama in 1947, so in this 2024, Brenda Gantt is 77 years old. She moved to Tuscaloosa at the age of four and graduated from Tuscaloosa County High School in 1965. Then, she attended Livingston State University and earned her bachelor’s degree in teaching.
After graduation, she became a science teacher in the Tuscaloosa County School System. In 1968, after marriage, she moved to Covington County and taught there until her retirement. Apart from teaching, she also enjoys cooking, which has led her to become as famous as she is today.

Brenda Gantt’s Career
Her career began as soon as she graduated from Livingston State University. She started out as a science teacher until her retirement. However, way before her schooling days, when she was a young lady, she had always loved cooking.
She would regularly help her mother in the kitchen, and her mother wouldn’t complain about anything. In fact, Brenda was her mother’s source of inspiration for creating perfect meals.
Her rise to stardom started in 2020 when she posted a video on Facebook of herself baking biscuits while holding her phone. This was during the COVID-19 pandemic, and it was an unexpected moment even for Brenda herself. She was just doing her regular baking for her family as a pastime, and this time it blew up.
This success has made Brenda an Internet phenomenon. However, this doesn’t make Brenda forget her family and friends. As a lovely lady, she uses her platform to promote her friend’s and family’s businesses.
She also uses this success to share her love for cooking by creating Brenda Gantt books called “It’s Gonna Be Good Y’all” in 2021 and “Linger Around the Table Y’all” in 2022.
Brenda’s Husband and Family
George Patton Gantt was Brenda’s late husband. They married and lived a happy life for 50 years. Sadly, in 2018, he passed away at the age of 72. From this marriage, they had two beautiful children, who now have their own families, and they blessed Brenda with five grandchildren.
George Gantt was born in Andalusia on April 6, 1946. He has four other siblings: Mary Ann Carter, Kyle, Caton, and the late Joe Gantt. George attended Andalusian High School and graduated in 1964. In his high school years, he was known as a versatile athlete.
He went to Business at Livingston University. Subsequently, the couple met at the same university, and it all started there. George dated Brenda during their college days; they married after graduation, as mentioned earlier.
Shortly after their marriage, George joined the United States Marine Corps. After being discharged from the Marines, George began his career in law enforcement. Because of this, he worked for the Alabama Beverage Control Board (ABC).
Because of his dedication to his work, he rose to the position of the head and director of ABC. After 25 years of hard work, he retired from his job.
After his retirement, he managed Hickory Ridge Lodge. On the other hand, Sweetgum Bottom Antiques was another shop that he worked with. For so many years, both George and Brenda loved collecting antiques. They also owned a garden together.
For your information, George Patton Gantt also taught as a Sunday School teacher for 30 years.

Brenda Gantt, is a survivor of cancer. She survived two extensive back surgeries and breast cancer in both breasts. As a loving wife, she treated her husband like a king. Her life experiences have made her very strong. She feels like the luckiest woman in the world and is happy and stress-free now.
